Welcome to 3 Freedoms!

I feel like we need a name for ourselves. 3Frees? 3Free-ers? Peeps? I'm excited to continue this journey in a new way, with new friends. The homeschooling community has exploded over the last few years and I think it is super exciting. So many families are embarking on what many say is too hard or even impossible. The most common response I used to get when I said that I homeschooled was, "I could never do that!"

That response always makes me so sad. Some people say that they could not be around their children that much, often topping their initial reaction off with a comment like, "I would be drinking a lot of wine," or "we would not survive each other."

Something is amiss in our society. To consider our kids as a part-time job is not how God designed this thing called family. I pray that as you decide to homeschool or as you continue homeschooling, you will stay rooted in Jesus and know that there is blessing in the hardships. There is you, and there is your child. And in between is God, piecing together everything that we cannot. You know what our kids need more than memorization of times tables, advanced reading levels, and college scholarships? They need us. They need unhurried time to know that they are worth our attention.

I pray that as you join this community, you are encouraged and reminded just how important these day-to-days are. Homeschooling and parenthood are eternal undertakings. We don't need wine. We need Jesus.
